After listening "Line" and "Square", we are going to listen "SIGNS III, Triangle", the third EP of Opera23. The purpose of SIGNS, this macro project, is to analyze, step by step, every musical idea, from when it is generated to its creation, recording and, finally, listening. Each EP represents a different level of how the rational mind can filter, manage, modify an idea. This EP, Triangle, is the second stage. The triangle represents the minimum polygon, the most basic closed geometric figure. At the same time, the triangle is a very complex element if analyzed from a geometric-mathematical point of view, probably by virtue of this essentiality: is the first and definitive impact that rationality imposes on the irrational.
The triangle is that moment in which a form emerges from the water, in literature it is a synecdoche, in painting it is the relationship between abstract and concrete. In music it is rhythm.
For “SIGNS II: Triangle” Opera23 has composed two songs, Saturn and Jupiter, both based on rhythmic patterns. The sounds used do not come from any recognizable musical instrument, they are very short, essential, naked sounds. These are sounds that, if extrapolated from the song, will lose all meaning.
Is the organization that creates a coherent architecture.
